The DLF phases are among Gurgaon's most established neighbourhoods, and families here ask for maths help across every board – from Class 6 basics to IB HL and JEE Advanced. This guide brings together what we have learned teaching in DLF Phase 1, 2, 4 and 5, with links to a detailed guide for each phase, board and stage.
The four phases at a glance
| Phase | Where it is | What families usually ask for |
|---|---|---|
| DLF Phase 1 | Near MG Road and Sikanderpur; includes Qutab Enclave | Home vs coaching, CBSE and ICSE help, sessions that avoid evening traffic |
| DLF Phase 2 | Next to Cyber City and NH-48, along the Rapid Metro | Evening and weekend slots for working parents, home plus online |
| DLF Phase 4 | Around Galleria Market and Supermart, bordering Sector 28 | A steady weekly routine; CBSE, ICSE/ISC and IGCSE |
| DLF Phase 5 | Golf Course Road, Sectors 42, 43, 53 and 54 | IB and IGCSE tutors, high-rise society visits, JEE |

How to choose a maths home tutor in any DLF phase
Whatever the phase, the same checks work:
- Board fit. Ask which board and class the tutor has taught most recently. CBSE, ICSE/ISC, IGCSE and IB are taught and marked very differently, and several changed for 2026–27 and 2027.
- A real diagnostic. The first session should find your child's actual level, not start a chapter at random.
- Your child does the work. In a good session the student writes and the tutor questions.
- A plan you can see. What to fix first, how many sessions a week, and what progress should look like in a month.
- Reliable timing. The same slot each week, with a clear plan for missed sessions.
- Honest reporting. A short update after sessions and a regular review against a target.
How often? A starting point
- Classes 6–8: one or two sessions a week.
- Classes 9 and 11: two a week.
- Classes 10 and 12: two or three a week, more before board exams.
- IGCSE and IB: two a week, with extra time around mocks and internal assessments.
- JEE: two sessions of around 90 minutes alongside coaching, or three without.
The right number depends on your child – a tutor should recommend it after the diagnostic, not before.
Why home tuition suits the DLF phases
Evening traffic on MG Road, Golf Course Road and around Cyber City makes travelling to a coaching centre slow. With a home tutor, a one-hour session costs your child one hour. Sessions can move online during travel or busy weeks, and siblings can be taught one after the other in the same visit.
